What if I told you
that you don’t have to choose between beautiful hair and protecting your health?
Once your eyes are opened, there’s no going back.
For many women, the journey into low-tox living begins with a wake-up call: sensitivities, burnout, hormone disruption, or simply realizing how much we’ve been exposed to without consent.
The last thing you want is for your hair routine to undo the healing work you’ve fought so hard for.
I work with women who care deeply about what they put on and around their bodies.

Did you know that artificial fragrance is an endocrine disruptor?
Did you know that your endocrine system is a network of glands and organs that regulate critical bodily functions, including metabolism, hormones, mood, growth, and homeostasis? Our bodies are being constantly bombarded by a number of different toxins we can't control, having a stylist that knows this and uses natural and non-toxic products that work, is now something you have access to. I am proud to use the highest quality, fragrance-free organic hair care products, and low-tox hair color that is free of ammonia and fragrance. Keeping our health a priority.
Water
"Drink 8 glasses of water daily" has grown into a misinterpreted "health" craze. The concept of drinking eight glasses of water daily can be traced back to a recommendation made by the U.S. Food and Nutrition Board in 1945. They suggested a daily fluid intake of about 2.5 liters (approx. 10.5 cups), but this included all fluids consumed, not just water. The recommendation was misinterpreted over time, leading to the popular belief that one should drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water specifically. This idea gained traction in the media and was further propagated by various health campaigns, often influenced by the bottled water industry. The original guideline emphasized that most of the daily water intake comes from food, not just beverages. The myth has persisted despite evidence showing that hydration needs vary significantly among individuals based on factors like age, sex, activity level, and climate. This misunderstanding has led to a widespread belief that drinking eight glasses of water daily is essential for health, despite a lack of scientific support for this specific quantity. What they don't tell you about the "requirements" is that what you are consuming is full of contaminants. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) conducted studies of over 50,000 public water utilities nationwide, and discovered a whopping 250 different contaminants in our water supplies! These contaminants include, but are not limited to: Heavy metals—from agricultural runoff and industry pollution Pharmaceuticals—an investigation by the Associated Press detected dozens of pharmaceuticals in the US drinking water supply affecting over 41 million people Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides—including glyphosates, aka RoundUp®, deemed a probable carcinogen by the World Health Organization and a carcinogen by the state of California Just to name a few... and here are some of their adverse effects: 100 are linked to an increased risk of cancer. 78 associated with brain and nervous system damage. 63 connected to developmental harm to children or fetuses. 38 that may cause fertility problems. 45 linked to hormonal disruption. Current maximum levels of the EPA regulated contaminants in drinking water are legally “allowed”, even though scientific literature tell a different tale regarding safety. Dr. Roy Speiser, water quality specialist, scientist, and consumer advocate describes how these toxic substances accumulate in the body over time: ‘Bioaccumulation,’ which means if you drink contaminated water for a week you may be fine, but after years and years of regular consumption and exposure, you accumulate toxic heavy metals and chemicals in your body, increasing risks of certain diseases. So, considering that most of us were led to believe we are to drink around 8 glasses of water a day, (plus tea and coffee), bathe regularly, and use water to cook you can see how these harmful chemicals can easily accumulate. Yet, they are allowed to persist in our municipal and private water systems. Which is why it’s up to you to protect yourself from toxic water…

Small Changes You Can Make
Here are three small changes you can make to change your life today!

Eliminate Fragrance
Start now by looking at all of your products in your beauty cabinet, turn the bottles around and look at the labels. Search for the words "fragrance" or "parfume" - those are guarantee to be chock full of man made concoctions of chemicals and disruptors. Eliminate what you can, replace when you can with cleaner ingredients. Not sure how to know what products to choose? EWG skin deep is a website dedicated to showing almost every product available, and what they rate as " clean" or "harmful".

Exercise
Taking walks daily are known to improve overall health, but did you know that doing jumping jacks or using a rebounder (fancy name for trampoline) will help with lymphatic drainage? Proper function of the lymph helps our bodies detox smoothly, and process the toxins to go through our body and not remain stagnant.

Read
Read ingredients, read blogs, read about why certain ingredients are harmful to what parts of our bodies. EWG is a great resource for expanding your knowledge of what to use. If you think you can't afford clean products right now, start with elimination, detox, and clean eating. EWG has a list of foods that don't have to be organic, called the "clean 15" and foods that you should consider buying organic called the "dirty dozen".
